I keep seeing tweets/etc from pb writers getting defensive… noah fence but did you expect to tease a book with “a bad boy romance” in the title and a description centering around a male love interest and have wlw just be like ‘oh chill this totally does not look like something dumb that excludes me and once again prioritizes male love interests to an extreme degree’… like really what did you expect… what am I supposed to say? “Oh yay another male centric book that’s so male centric it has ‘a bad boy romance’ in the title!” “Hooray the title and description do not at all indicate a female love interest but I’ll just trust there is one that I’ll actually get to talk to!”… I think the fuck not you trick ass bitch
ive gotta be honest if i had to choose between helena or mac, helena would win. always. she’s the best love interest in lovestruck and her route always touches and warms my aching heart in a gentle manner that’s reminiscent of when i first played emily verma and medusa’s routes (two of the first female lis n voltage games). it feels like im coming home to someone who loves me as i am, including my flaws.
her writer did an amazing job humanizing a flawed villain-turned-reluctant-hero and helena herself has never made excuses for the terrible things she’s done even if it was due to the witch queen’s abuse. ive never wanted to let someone know that yes, yes, they are worthy of a kind and beautiful love so much before.
that’s what helena’s route is all about; love is the most powerful thing in the world. it can consume u, build u up and cruelly break u, and destroy ur very being. but love can reach into ur very soul and be ur biggest strength. empathy and kindness isn’t a weakness and that’s the biggest lesson helena’s route embodies.
this is a lot longer than i meant it to be but thanks lovestruck for giving us helena klein, ill always be grateful for her existence.
